I was a member of a panel that provided a means for attending science fiction and fantasy authors to consider things every opening must do, beyond a great opening line. Character, setting, and conflict are just the beginning. This panel was presented at the 10th annual JordanCon in Atlanta, GA.

I was a member of a panel that provided a means for attending science fiction and fantasy authors to consider various methods of generating creative writing. Participants were given opportunities to practice these new ideas during several brief, impromptu writing segments. This panel was presented at the 9th annual JordanCon in Atlanta, GA.

This individual session was part of a larger symposium titled Creating Competent, Confident, Creative Writers, with Beverly Ann Chin (Chair). The symposium was conducted at the annual convention of the National Council of Teachers of English in San Antonio, TX. The information I presented had its foundation in my 2005 dissertation, which is listed in my publications.

This manuscript, written jointly under the surname Wingo with Bethany Blankenship, was published in Montana English Journal, the peer-reviewed state journal of the Montana Association of Teachers of English Language Arts. ​Information was based on our teacher quality grant work during the 2005-2006 academic year in Montana, which had its foundation in my 2005 dissertation research.
