Information was based on our teacher quality grant work during the 2007-2008 academic year in Montana. Using Prewriting Strategies to Help Students Succeed on Writing Assessments| NCTE-2008 This individual session was part of a larger symposium titled Creating Competent, Confident, Creative Writers, with Beverly Ann Chin (Chair). The symposium was conducted at the annual convention of the National Council of Teachers of English in San Antonio, TX. The information I presented had its foundation in my 2005 dissertation, which is listed in my publications. State Grants Link Writing at the 6th Grade, 11th Grade, and College Levels | CCCC - 2008 This individual session was part of a larger symposium titled Changing writing assessment: Building active collaboration among high schools and 2-year and 4-year colleges, with Jan Clinard (Chair).
